I am very excited about this new service we can provide our members and visitors. I believe this will improve our communications greatly and allow us to more freely exchange ideas and comments. The success of our Local is a direct result of the members participation which comes in many forms. We can't exist without membership and I am pleased to report we are now are at 95% membership with only 13 non-members in the field. We need you to get involved even if it is only responding to the issues to let us know how you feel so we can accurately represent you the members. As time and conditions allow, we can always use your help with committees and activities.

I believe we can promote and enhance the true sister/brotherhood of the IAFF which starts at the local level. This profession is not like any other and requires YOU to do your part to carry on the rich traditions and heritage of the fire service. Unfortunately there has been a move in some departments to tear down those traditions and make this just another job. September 11 has reminded us once again what it means to be counted among America's Bravest.

I am proud to serve as your President and will strive to not let you down. I can't thank you enough for the support and comments (even those that disagree with me). Let's keep and build the pride, honor, and integrity to stand up for our brothers and sisters to build the best organization to serve the people we protect.
